Simplifying 102: Fable Avatar

Here's the pants; You can already tell just how crazy the details are on this model just by looking at the pants alone. So simplifying it is definitely necessary.

(Of course I had to ignore my inner voices telling me to keep the model as is, but really, I'm not that crazy to build a model this detailed just to satisfy my hobby needs.)

So, 1st image of course is the "default" model, consisting of 1051 Vertices and 1072 Faces. (I just had to pick the most detailed suit of armor huh?)

2nd image is the initial phase of simplifying the model. It now consists of 829 Vertices and 747 Faces. I merely simplified the legs, leaving out the armor pieces; but that portion alone has a significant difference as you can tell.

3rd image is the final phase of simplifying. It now has a total of 362 Vertices and 447 Faces. The most drastic changes occurred on the armor. Those armor flaps are now all flat pieces. I still need to work on the belt, coz it looks a bit wonky.

The model is still pretty much detailed of course, there are still certain portions of the pants/armor that I've yet to tackle since I need to combine the boots and the upper body parts onto the pants and fix the "connections".

I gotta wonder, for a process called Simplifying; it sure is a pain in the butt.
